Information about Google Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics for statistical audience measuring, e.g. to estimate the number of unique visitors, to detect the most preeminent search engine keywords that lead to our Website webpage or to track down website navigation issues. Google Analytics, which relies on the use of cookies, is the most popular service for the collection and analysis of data regarding the behaviour of visitors in websites.
Cookies are used to process certain information such as your IP address, the time at which you accessed the Website, the type of browser you are using, the location from which you accessed it, as well as the frequency of your visits. At each visit to the Website, this data is transmitted to Google’s servers. In case you also use other Google’s services, it is possible that your data will be processed in combination with other relevant information with the aim of profiling for advertising purposes. We have no control over Google’s policies and practices as far the processing of your data on its behalf is concerned. Further information on Google’s use of cookies and data processing in the context of Google Analytics can be found here.
Important note: In July 2020 the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) invalidated the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, the mechanism through which companies could transfer personal information or data to the United States in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Until this decision from the CJEU, data transfers within Google Analytics were based on this Framework. After the decision, data transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses provided by Google (article 46 GDPR) and, auxiliary, on your explicit consent, according to the terms set by article 49.1a GDPR, in the absence of an adequacy decision. Data subjects should be aware that their data may be used for profiling by Google and be transferred to the US and a competent public or security authority may be granted access to them.
The Website utilises the “Anonymise IP” function, which is offered by Google as part of the Analytics service. With this specific function, access to your IP address is anonymised by Google while you are accessing our Website. This function is regarded by data protection authorities in the EU as a best practice in the context of appropriate organization and technical measures taken to protect and secure your personal data.
Finally, you have the option to entirely block the collection of your data by Google Analytics, by installing a plug-in on your preferred browser:
Facebook Custom Audience Pixel
This Website uses Facebook pixel, a Facebook Inc. service. (Facebook Ireland Ltd. 4 Grand Canal Square Grand Canal Harbour Dublin 2 Ireland). It’s basically a small piece of Javascript code that we’ve integrated into the Site. This piece of code provides various functions for sending specific data to Facebook about a visitor’s actions. We use this service to record information about how visitors use our website.
This pixel records and provides Facebook with information about the user’s browser settings, a fragmented (hashed) version of the Facebook ID and the URL you are visiting. In this way, every Facebook user gets a distinct Facebook ID regardless of the device used, through which it is possible to target our visitors again for advertising purposes through Facebook ads.
This information is kept for a maximum period of 180 days. After this period the information is deleted until the visitor visits our Website again. The Website does not have the ability to identify users, as we do not receive such data from Facebook, only anonymous statistical information. We are not in a position to know what information is provided about users through cookies and other technologies used by Facebook itself. You can find out more about how Facebook pixel technology works here.
Important note: In July 2020 the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) invalidated the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, the mechanism through which companies could transfer personal information or data to the United States in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Until this decision from the CJEU, data transfers within Facebook were based on this Framework. After the decision, data transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses provided by Facebook (article 46 GDPR) and, auxiliary, on your explicit consent, according to the terms set by article 49.1a GDPR, in the absence of an adequacy decision. Data subjects should be aware that their data may be used for profiling by Facebook and be transferred to the US and a competent public or security authority may be granted access to them.
D. Log Files
Due to the architecture of the World Wide Web, when you visit our Website, our server immediately records your IP address in special log files. Your IP address is considered “personal data”, even if we are not able to identify you based solely on that information. In addition, our log files also help us to record the type of browser and operating system you are using, as well as other information concerning your visit, such as the URL address from which you reached our page, the date and time of your visit.
This data is stored exclusively for the amount of time necessary to protect the security of our network, information and services from accidental events or illegal or malicious acts that compromise the availability, integrity and confidentiality of stored or transmitted personal data (e.g. avoiding “Denial of Service” (DoS) attacks).
